Live Rosin vs Distillate
Not all cannabis drinks are made the same. Here's what separates full-spectrum live rosin from distillate.
Side by side
Live rosin vs distillate
| Attribute | Live Rosin | Distillate |
|---|---|---|
| Source material | Fresh-frozen cannabis flower | Dried, cured biomass |
| Extraction method | Heat and pressure only | Solvent-based refinement |
| Solvents | None — solventless | Typically used during processing |
| Flavor and aroma | True to the living plant | Flat, often re-added artificially |
| Spectrum | Full-spectrum cannabinoids and terpenes | Mostly isolated THC |
What is live rosin?
Live rosin is made from fresh-frozen cannabis flower using only heat and pressure — no solvents. Freezing the flower at harvest locks in the plant's natural cannabinoids and terpenes, so the extract keeps the true flavor, aroma and balance of the living plant.
What is distillate?
Distillate is a highly processed extract, usually made with solvents and repeated refinement until mostly isolated THC remains. It looks clean on paper, but the processing strips out the terpenes and minor cannabinoids, leaving a flatter flavor and a more one-dimensional effect.
Why it matters in a drink
In a beverage there's nowhere to hide. A distillate drink often tastes flat or vaguely artificial, while live rosin carries the plant's real character into the can. TIKI is crafted with full-spectrum Emerald Triangle live rosin so every sip is bright, smooth and balanced — the way the plant intended.
